Orlando house Munich

The Orlando House was built in 1900 according to the plans of the Munich architect Max Littmann. It is right on the Munich Platzl between Viktualienmarkt and Maximilianstrasse. The name of the house goes back to Orlando di Lasso, the famous composer of the Renaissance, whose house stood on this site.

The Messerschmitt Foundation acquired the building in 1997. The five-storey corner building has German Neo-Renaissance forms inside and out. The ground floor in particular is very richly decorated.
